Recent Project: Dormer Build & Full Re-Roof

We recently completed a full dormer build and roof rebuild in autumn 2025, starting with the structural work to open up the roof and form the new dormer.

At this stage, the focus is on getting the structure right — ensuring everything is solid, level, and built to support the new roof properly.

Once the structure was in place, we built out the dormer to create additional usable loft space.

We worked closely with the client throughout this stage to make sure the layout and finish matched exactly what they had in mind.

With the main build complete, we moved onto the roofing and finer details.

The full roof was finished using clay pantiles, while the dormer was completed with Acme plain tiles, including traditional Winchester cuts to the gable eaves for a clean, detailed finish.

We also incorporated decorative slate work to the dormer window, adding a bespoke feature that reflects the client’s design choices and gives the build a bit more character.

To complete the project, we carried out all final detailing, including fascia installation, leadwork for long-term weatherproofing, and chimney repointing.

These finishing elements are just as important as the main build, ensuring everything not only looks right but performs properly for years to come.

This project shows the full scope of what we do — from the structure through to the final finish — with a focus on quality, detail, and getting the job done properly.

5 star ranking
"Clayton, Stuart and colleagues removed and replaced our complicated roof with several lead valleys, on a period 5-bed property. They worked tirelessly through rain and high winds to complete the project in three weeks. Their standards of craftsmanship were very high, using white cement and adding decorative tile inserts into the ridge cement work. The finished job is extremely neat, solid and looks great. The roofers were courteous throughout the project and also cleared up the site carefully before they left. I would highly recommend them for their craftsmanship, pace and commitment to finishing a job. Good value for money."
